Thailand…

Time flies when you’re having fun, and this has been the most fun and relaxing holiday since Italy, so naturally time really has flown.

I dont know where to begin so I just say some random things we have done.

We went to an island near my parents apartment (http://www.annasuss.com/thai for the apartment and http://www.ko-sichang.com/ for the island) this was a great experience, the beach was calm and nice, although one day it was filled with norwegians, so not so quiet that day. We also found a really good tuk-tuk driver there who spoke decent english and drove us around the whole island for 350 baht (70:-), we gave him 30:- tip so we paid a 100, which my father thought was insane, but we have learned that here isnt tip 10% but it is what you think they deserve. We thought he deserved a big tip.

Gary was ill for one and a half day due to a meatlovers pizza (I ate the pizza but not the meat, so it must have eben the meat) . In that time I did a media-law exam that I am probably gonna fail due to not being able to access all information needed. But at least I tried.

I found out that I passed System Development 2, which is quite a relief.

Right now we are in Chiang Mai after having spent 2 days in bangkok. In bangkok we went to the sunday/weekend market, where every fifth stall is exactly the same.. so compared to that the nighjt bazar here in chiang mai has a lot of diversity.

Tomorrow we are going to to a day tour including elephant ride, 80 minutes walking, RIVER RAFTING (I’m gonna be soo nervous), waterfall bathing and lunch.

Chiang Mai literally means new city and has retained the name despite having celebrated its 700th anniversary in 1996. King Meng Rai founded the city as the capital of the Lanna (A Million Rice Fields) Kingdom on Thursday, 12th April 1296 during the same period of time as the establishment of the Sukhothai Kingdom. King Meng Rai the Great conferred with his friends, King Ramkhamhaeng of Sukhothai and King Ngam Muang of Phayao before choosing the site where the capital of the Lanna Kingdom was to be founded.

Other than that there is Krabi, Chiang Rai, and many other places left to explore.

Its not many days left til we reach garys part of the trip.. the New zealand part..
